iPhone users, designers, devs — they all convert here.

★★★★★

My client sends me HEIC photos from her iPhone and no one in our team could open them. Now I just drop them here and get JPGs in seconds. Lifesaver.

I had 200 HEIC files from a trip and needed them as JPGs for a photo book. Batch converted the lot in under a minute. No quality loss whatsoever.

I was sceptical about photos staying local in the browser. Turns out everything runs client-side — nothing routes through a server.

GPS coordinates and capture date both intact in the output JPG. That's the thing that sold me — most converters drop the EXIF entirely.

The other converters I tried had ads, upload caps or watermarks. This one has none of that. Batch mode is fast and the output quality is solid.

Our platform only takes JPG and suppliers send HEIC constantly. This is how we handle it now — drop the files, grab the ZIP.

Converting to WebP instead of JPG — didn't know that was an option. Got 40% smaller files with identical visual quality. Using this every day now.

My parents send HEIC photos from their iPhone and they always wonder why the images look broken on Windows. I shared this link — problem solved permanently.

Anatomy · 01

HEIC is efficient — but JPG opens everywhere.

Apple's HEIC format squeezes twice the quality into half the file size. Great for your iPhone's storage — not so great when Windows, web platforms, printers, or Android apps refuse to open it.

  • Win
    Windows Photo Viewer
Windows 10/11 needs a paid codec to open HEIC. Convert to JPG and it opens instantly, everywhere.
  • Web
    Social & e-commerce platforms
Instagram, Shopify, WordPress — most platforms still expect JPG or PNG for uploads.
  • Print
    Print labs and photobooks
Professional photo labs and book services universally accept JPG. HEIC support is rare and unreliable.

You control the output. Every format, every quality.

Not all conversions are equal. Drag the quality slider to balance file size against visual fidelity — or output to PNG for pixel-perfect lossless results that match the HEIC source exactly.

  • JPG
    Universal, adjustable quality
90% quality is visually indistinguishable from the source. Great for web, email, and social sharing.
  • PNG
    Lossless — every pixel preserved
No compression artifacts. Best for screenshots, UI assets, and anything with transparency.
  • WebP
    Smallest file, modern web
40% smaller than JPG at equivalent quality. Supported by all major browsers since 2020.
How it works

Three steps. Zero uploads.

Drop your HEIC files, pick an output format, download. Everything decodes and re-encodes locally in your browser — your iPhone photos never touch a server.

01 / DROP

Drop your HEIC files onto the folder.

One file or fifty — drop them all at once. Works with HEIC, HEIF, Live Photos, and AVIF straight from your iPhone, iCloud or camera roll.

02 / CHOOSE

Pick your output format and quality.

Select JPG, PNG or WebP. Set the quality slider for JPEG — 90% is the sweet spot. Or go lossless with PNG or WebP.

JPG 90% quality
PNG Lossless
WebP 85% quality
03 / KEEP

Download. Or grab the full ZIP.

Each converted file downloads instantly. For batches, grab them all as a single ZIP. No email, no account, no watermark.

Things people ask

Common questions about HEIC conversion.

Does kindatool upload my HEIC photos to convert them?
No. The HEIC decoder and JPEG/PNG/WebP encoder run entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Your photo data is read from disk, decoded, re-encoded, and handed back as a download — all locally. Open DevTools → Network while converting and you will see zero outbound image requests.
What is HEIC and why can't I open it everywhere?
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the default format iPhones use since iOS 11. It uses the HEVC codec — the same compression technology behind 4K video — which delivers roughly the visual quality per byte compared to JPEG. The downside: Windows, older Android apps, and most web platforms don't support it natively without extra codecs or plugins.
Will I lose quality when converting HEIC to JPG?
At 90% JPEG quality or higher, the result is visually indistinguishable from the HEIC source to the human eye. JPEG is inherently lossy, so some mathematical information is lost — but at high quality settings this has no practical impact. For zero quality loss, convert to PNG (lossless) or WebP lossless instead.
Can I batch-convert multiple HEIC files at once?
Yes. Drop up to 50 HEIC files at once. All conversions run in parallel using Web Workers, so the total time is roughly equal to converting the largest single file. When done, download all output files in a single ZIP archive.
Does HEIC to JPG conversion preserve EXIF metadata?
Yes. GPS coordinates, camera model, lens information, date taken, and all other EXIF fields are preserved in the output JPG by default. If you want to strip metadata — for example before sharing publicly — toggle the "Strip EXIF" option before downloading.
What other formats can I convert HEIC to?
JPG, PNG (lossless), and WebP. Choose PNG when you need pixel-perfect fidelity or transparency support. Choose WebP when file size matters most — WebP at 85% quality produces files roughly 40% smaller than JPEG at equivalent visual quality, and is supported by all major browsers since 2020.
